Paulin Raymond Rodrigue of Shelton CT, entered into eternal rest on January 12, 2025 at the age of 82 surrounded by his cherished family. He was born to Damien Rodrigue and Georgianna Morin on January 23, 1942, in St. Samuel, Quebec, Canada.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Liliane Bégin Rodrigue and his 3 daughters, Julie (Jeffrey Samoncik), Monique (Edwin J. Elton V) and Joanne (Glenn Blanchette).
He leaves behind 9 cherished Grandchildren, Chantal, Brittany (Michael Kavanaugh), William, Cailin (fiancé Cole Biagetti), Justin (Gabrielle Blanchette), Devin (girlfriend Madison DiFrisco), Emma, Chloe and Jean- Paul, step grandchildren Madison and Jack Samoncik, and 5 Great Grandchildren Brooks, Colton, Chason, Michael, and Everly.
Paul was loved by all his siblings, late Clémence (Jean-Roch Fecteau), Jean-Marc (Gail Bloom), late Lorraine (late Raymond Bouchard), Yvon (Lisette Bolduc), Ginette (André Savoie), Liliane (Roger Roy), Lise (Jacques Vachon), late Simonne (Michel Vachon), and Jean-Guy (Hélène Gosselin), and by his extended family, Fernand Bégin, late Reynold Bégin, (Ginette Simard), (late Lise Laprise), Viateur Bégin (Eliane LaCroix), Normand Bégin (Micheline Nadeau), Collette Bégin (late Henri Beaudoin), Marjolaine Bégin (Ali Hamrouni), Pauline Bégin (Aurel Beaudoin).
Paulin was predeceased by his parents Damien and Georgianna, his father-in-law Roger Bégin, mother-in-law, Rose Létourneaux.
He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews (late Simon Bouchard) whom he cherished as well as many dear cousins and friends, both in Canada and the United States.
Paulin grew up on a farm in St. Ludger Quebec, Canada and immigrated to the US in 1960 at age 18.
He started working in construction, became a builder and together with his wife built a successful construction company building homes and developing subdivisions throughout Fairfield County. Building was a passion of his, as demonstrated by the quality of his work.
Paul was a proud member of the Knights of Columbus. He played hockey throughout his life, most recently with the Darien Winter Club, playing till the age of 66. He was a lifetime fan of the Montréal Canadiens proudly wearing number 5 on his jersey after Boom Boom Geoffrion. He was an avid fisherman and loved being on his boat in Long Island Sound catching blue fish and flounder. His family meant everything to him. He never missed a family occasion whether it was in the United States or Canada. He was a devoted husband, father, grand-father, great grandfather, and brother and spent much of his free time with his children and extended family. He was a mentor to many throughout his life.
He loved the simple pleasures in life, like going out to dinner, watching his hockey games and going to his grandchildrens’ sports games and activities. He will forever be remembered as a family man and missed dearly by all.
Friends and family may call on Friday, January 17, 2025 from 4 to 8 pm at the Edward F. Adzima Funeral Home, 253 Elizabeth St. Derby. On Saturday final visitation for the immediate family will begin at 9:00 am. Friends may go directly to St. Joseph Church, 420 Coram Ave. Shelton for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am.
