Pauline Karkut, age 85 of Shelton, entered into rest on Thursday May 16, 2013 in the Hewitt Memorial Hospital.
She was the devoted wife of the late Ernest Karkut.
Mrs. Karkut was born in Orange Sept. 20, 1927 daughter of the late John and Melania Kulawiec Hancharyk, and was a resident of Shelton and Orange for most of her life.
She was a communicant of St. Michael’s Church in Derby.
She is the beloved mother of Stanley Karkut, and Jane Catlin, and her husband Scott, cherished grandmother of Sarah Catlin, and also leaves several nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by her four brothers, Paul, Michael, Steven, and Russell Hancharyk, and her two sisters, Olga Stockmal and Stephanie Smith.
Friends may greet her family on Sunday from 3 to 6 p.m. in the Riverview Funeral Home 390 River Road Shelton. On Monday her funeral service will be held in the funeral home at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Mitchell Wanat officiating. Burial will follow in St. Michael’s Cemetery.
