Peter Alfano, 73, of Oxford, peacefully entered into eternal rest on June 30, 2013, at Yale-New Haven Hospital. He was the beloved and devoted husband of Angela Cannizzaro Alfano.
Mr. Alfano was born in Ethiopia on December 10, 1939, son of the late Ciro and Concettina Alfano. A resident of Oxford for 42 years, he was previously employed as a steel engraver at Schwerdtle Stamp Co. in Bridgeport. He enjoyed spending time with his family and playing golf.
In addition to his wife Angela, he is survived by two loving daughters, Gina Gazsi and her husband Andrew of Oxford and Renee Borgesano and her husband Michael of Seymour, three brothers, Frank Alfano of Rome, Italy, George Alfano of Naples, Italy and Ciro Alfano of FL, a sister, Giovanna Ronzone and her husband Umberto of Ansonia, two cherished grandsons, Nicholas and Anthony Gazsi and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Maria Alfano.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Peter’s funeral on Wednesday July 3, 2013, at 10:00 am (PLEASE MEET DIRECTLY) at the Church of the Good Shepherd, 135 Mountain Road in Seymour, for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Mountain Meadows Cemetery in Seymour. There will be no visiting hours.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Peter’s memory may be made to the American Red Cross. The SPINELLI-RICCIUTI/BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia, has been privileged with the arrangements.
