Peter P. Insalaco

Peter P. Insalaco, age 91, a resident of Ansonia since 1962, peacefully entered into eternal rest on Sunday, January 9, 2022, at CT Hospice in Branford. He was the beloved husband of sixty-one years to Lucille Nutile Insalaco. 

Mr. Insalaco was born in Shelton on June 24, 1930, son of the late Stephen and Giacinta DeRosa Insalaco. A graduate of Shelton High School and the University of Connecticut, he was employed by the Dual-Lite Co. in Newtown, where he retired as Vice President of Operations. A proud veteran, he honorably served in the U.S. Air Force and later as a reservist in the CT Air National Guard, retiring with the rank of major in 1996. Peter was an avid golfer and a former long-time member of Highland Golf Club in Shelton. He also was an avid fan of UConn Basketball and the Boston Red Sox. 

In addition to his wife Lucille, he leaves to cherish his memory, a daughter, Lori A. Dreher (Donald J.) of Santa Ynez, CA, a son, Richard A. Insalaco, grandsons, Donald M. Dreher (Crystal) of CA and Geoffrey M. Dreher (Melanie) of NC, great-grandchildren, Olivia, Mason, Mia, Harper and Beckham, sisters, Virginia Norton (Hubert) of Oxford, Ruth Ovesny (John) and Martha Insalaco of Shelton, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers, Anthony, Stephen and Thomas Insalaco and sisters, Louise LaVecchia and Mary Insalaco. 

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral on Friday January 14, 2022, at 11:00 am (please meet directly) at Holy Rosary Church, 10 Father Salemi Drive in Ansonia for a Mass of Christian Burial. Due to Covid, both visitation and interment with U.S. Air Force military honors in Mt. St. Peter Cemetery in Derby will be held in private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made directly to Holy Rosary Church or American Heart Association at giving.heart.org.
