Philip J. “P.J.” Finn, 53, of Ansonia, unexpectedly entered into peaceful rest on Sunday evening, December 12, 2010.
P.J. was born in Derby on August 10, 1957, son of the late Philip L. and Patricia Doyle Finn. A lifelong resident of Ansonia, he was employed as a Lead Man in the Machine Maintenance and Repair Department at Sikorsky Aircraft in Stratford for thirty years. He was a graduate of Emmett O’Brien High School in Ansonia in 1975 and honorably served as a Petty Officer in the United States Navy aboard the USS Ponce until his discharge in 1979.
He is survived by three sisters, Katherine E. Finn and Patty A. Finn of Ansonia and Maureen Finn Wilkinson and her husband Allan L. of Derby, a cherished niece and Goddaughter, Bridget P. Wilkinson of Derby, aunt, Harriet Finn of Shelton and numerous cousins and friends.
Friends and relatives are invited to attend his funeral on Thursday, December 16, 2010, at 8:45am from the SPINELLI-RICCIUTI/BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30am at the Church of the Assumption, 61 N. Cliff Street in Ansonia. U.S. Navy military honors will be accorded following the Mass. Private entombment will take place at the convenience of the family in Riverside Mausoleum in Shelton. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday from 4 – 7 pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions in P.J.‘s memory may be made to the Valley YMCA Swim Team Sprinters Association through the funeral home.
