Philip W. Evans, Sr., age 88, of Shelton, entered into rest on Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at Hewitt memorial Hospital with his loving family by his side.
He was the devoted husband of the late Valentina (Antonovich) Evans.
Mr. Evans was born in New Haven, on February 26, 1928 son of the late Lawrence and Jennie (Worcester) Evans and was a lifelong Shelton resident.
He served with the U.S. Airforce during WWII. Mr. Evans was a laboratory technician at Raybestos for many years until his retirement. He was a Cub Scout and Boy scout leader for a number of years.
Mr. Evans is the beloved father of Philip W. Evans, Jr. and his wife Sophie, Bruce Evans and his wife Jane and Mark Evans and his wife Carlotta and Karen Hoyt and her husband Gary. He is the loving grandfather of 6 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
Friends may call on Sunday from 2:00 – 5:00 p.m. at the Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Rd., Shelton. On Monday, his funeral service will be held at the funeral home at 11:00 a.m. His burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery.
