Phyliss Greco, age 60, has moved on into the afterlife to reunite with her mother Mary Carvaggio Oliva, father Frank Oliva, brother Michael Oliva, and two pets that she’d have called her children, Buddy and Kally. She passed peacefully at Yale-New Haven hospital with the love of her family comforting her in spirit.
Phyliss was born in Bridgeport, CT on March 17, 1960 to her parents Frank and Mary Oliva. Everyone who knew Phyliss knew that she was the life of the party. She lived fearlessly amongst a crowd and wasn’t afraid to embarrass her loved ones by singing loudly or making a few inappropriate jokes at the most inappropriate times. Most people remember Phyliss by the laughter and cheer she brought into their lives. She was never afraid to be openly and truly herself, and her love for strangers shined brightly.
Phyliss was a long time Seymour resident and enjoyed loving on her kids and grandchildren, talking on the phone for hours on end to brighten a friend’s day, spending time with her husband and mother-in-law, writing, and spoiling all the animals in the family. Phyliss never judged anyone and always took care of her friends in any way possible. Whether it was giving them a place to live, a shoulder to cry on, or an ear to listen, she put the people in her life above herself and did what she could to take care of them. Her open heart and kind soul is something that can never be replaced.
Phyliss is the beloved wife of Edward Greco. She’s the mother of Kristin Greco, Jaime Parks and her husband Keith Parks, Corey Greco and his wife Diana Greco. She is the sister of Joe Oliva and the late Michael Oliva. She is the cherished grandmother of Taylor and new edition to the family, Zoey. She is also the aunt to Frank Oliva.
She leaves behind countless memories that her family and friends will cherish forever. Her infectious laughter will still be heard in our minds and we will continue to spread endless joy and acts of kindness to strangers on her behalf. Due to COVID, services will not be held at this time though we hope to continue to celebrate her life every single day.
