Phyllis B. (Zarnoch) Posta, age 85, entered eternal rest on June 3, 2024, at Griffin Hospital in Derby, with her beloved family by her side.
She was the loving wife of fifty-nine years to the late John A. Posta Sr. Phyllis was born in Bridgeport on August 20, 1938, daughter of the late Stanley and Josephine Prusaczyk Zarnoch. She grew up in Bridgeport then resided in Seymour for most of her life before moving to Ansonia twelve years ago. Phyllis was employed in the billing department at the former Park City Hospital in Bridgeport. She loved preparing and cooking Sunday dinners each week for her loving family.
No matter what occasion, Phyllis always baked her famous tray of cookies for family and friends. She had a passion for crocheting in which she took pride in making blankets for each of her grandchildren. She enjoyed trips to the casino and shopping, especially with her grandson. Phyllis will be sadly missed but will remain in our hearts forever.
Phyllis leaves to cherish her memory, daughter, JoMarie Peters (Jon) of Oxford, sons, Benedetto J. Posta Sr. (Letizia) of Woodbridge, John A. Posta Jr. of Florida and Michael J. Posta of Ansonia, brother, Stanley Zarnoch of Milford, grandchildren, Angelo Posta, Angela Posta, Bianca Posta, Alicia Perrone (Marc), Benedetto Posta Jr. (Carolina Rodriguez), Antonio Posta, Michael Heathcote, Jessica Posta, Kayla Posta, Jon Peters and Teresina Peters, great-grandchildren, Luna Posta, Santino Ayala, Star Peters, Maria Ayala, Bella Keefe, Benedetto J. Posta III, Giada Antonina Perrone and Armani Suazo along with several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brothers, Philip and James Zarnoch and sister, Nancy Campbell.
Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family and pay their respects on Thursday June 6, 2024, from 5:00 – 7:00 pm in the chapel of SPINELLI-RICCIUTI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia. On Friday morning, her funeral will begin at 9:15 am from the funeral home then proceed to the Church of the Assumption in Ansonia for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am.
