Quentin J. Campanelli, 91, formerly of Academy Hill Road in Derby, entered into eternal rest on Friday April 15, 2011, at the Bishop Wicke Health Care in Shelton, with his loving son Ronald by his side. He was the beloved husband of the late Anne B. Criscuolo Campanelli.
Mr. Campanelli was born in Shelton on March 26, 1920, son of the late Mariano and Stella Gaspari Campanelli. He resided in Shelton until marrying and then moved to Derby. He was employed as a tool maker and foreman for the former Empire State Novelty in Shelton for 35 years and later the former Shelton Dry Vac for 15 years until his retirement. A proud United States Army veteran, he honorably served during WW II. Quentin was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the A.M. Club in Derby.
He is survived by a son, Ronald Campanelli and his wife Margaret of Naugatuck, a sister, Claire Confinante of Ansonia, two cherished grandchildren, Rebecca Campanelli Champagne and her husband Christopher of Seymour and Michael Campanelli of Naugatuck, two great-grandsons, Brayden and Graysen Champagne, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers, Louis, Alphonse, and Secondo Campanelli and sisters, Phyllis Clifford, Mary Valentino, and Dora “Rene” Wheeler.
Friends and relatives are invited to attend his funeral on Wednesday April 20, 2011, at 10:00 am at the Holy Rosary Church, Father Salemi Drive in Ansonia, for a Mass of Christian Burial. Entombment with U.S. Army military honors will follow in Mt. St. Peter’s Garden Mausoleum in Derby. Visiting hours will take place on WEDNESDAY MORNING from 9:00 am until the procession leaves for church at the SPINELLI-RICCIUTI/BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia.
