Ralph Mas, age 90, of Shelton, passed away into the Lord’s hands on Monday, December 10 2012.
He’s now at rest and at home with his beautiful wife, the late Elizabeth (Betty) Mas. Ralph was born in New Britain on September 10, 1922, son of the late Domenic and Stella (Sendra) Mas, and was a lifelong Shelton resident.
Ralph was a proud veteran of the US Navy and served his country with honor and distinction during WWII and the Korean War. After the war, he received a Bachelor Degree from Quinnipiac University. Ralph was a purchasing agent for the former B.F. Goodrich and the former Oramatic Manufacturing for many years until his retirement. He was very active for many years in local politics. Ralph enjoyed playing cards with his family, and during retirement, would play cards daily at the Ansonia Senior Center. For many years he was an active member of St. Margaret Mary’s Church and it’s Men’s Club.
As a beloved and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and uncle, Ralph cherished his entire family. He is the beloved father of Diane Andruski and her husband Chuck, Susan Goldstein and her husband David, Maureen Mas and her partner Katie Nappi and Ralph Mas, Jr. He also leaves two cherished grandchildren, Michael Krivlivsky and Kevin Goldstein, his two brothers, Edward D. Mas and his wife Cornelia and Vincent Mas, and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may greet the family at the Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Road, Shelton, on Thursday from 9:30 to 11:00 AM. His funeral procession will leave at 11:15 AM for a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Margaret Mary Church at 11:30 AM on Thursday. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Shelton.
