Ralph S. Marcucio

Ralph S. Marcucio, 84, peacefully entered into eternal rest in the early morning hours of Sunday October 16, 2016, in the comfort of his home. He was the beloved husband of Arlene (Mitchell) Marcucio.

Mr. Marcucio was born in Derby on Feb. 10, 1932, son of the late Gaetano and Viola (Lombardi) Marcucio Sr. A lifelong resident of Derby, he was a self-employed mason contractor. A proud veteran, he honorably served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Ralph enjoyed horse racing, visiting the casino, NASCAR and gardening. 

In addition to his wife Arlene, he is survived by loving daughters, Leslie Yuzwak (Walter) of Seymour and Linda Narowski (Mark) of Oxford, a sister, Joan DeMaio (James) of Orange, granddaughters, Monique Yuzwak of Seymour and Rachel and Meredith Narowski of Oxford and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers, Gaetano Marcucio Jr. and Robert Marcucio.

Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday October 19, 2016, from 5 – 8 pm in the chapel of the SPINELLI-RICCIUTI/BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia. On Thursday, his funeral will commence at 9:15 am from the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at St. Jude Church in Derby. Entombment with U.S. Army military honors will immediately follow in Mt. St. Peter Mausoleum in Derby. The family sends a heart-felt thank you to the staff at Masonicare in home hospice for their wonderful care.
