Raymond (Bud) Allen, Jr.

Raymond (Bud) Allen, Jr., 96, of Derby, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, November 4, 2021. 

He was born in Ansonia, the son of Raymond G. Allen and Florence Brennan Allen. 

Ray was survived by his wife, Sandra Allen, his children, Raymond (Susan) Allen, Stephen (Regina) Allen, Shawn (Melissa) Allen, Ross Allen, and Heidi Allen, and his step-children, William (Heidi) Clark, Suzanne (Tom) Dana, Taft Clark, and Frank (Lorraine) Clark. He was the beloved grandfather of Jeremy Allen, Jason Allen, Kyle Allen, Kathryn Allen, Victoria Lembeck, Tyler Clark, Nathan Clark, Michael Haskins, Jeffrey Haskins, Meghan Dana, Josh Dana, Gabby Dana, Taft Clark, Jr., Andy Clark, and Reese Clark; and the beloved great grandfather of Leila Allen, Julia Allen, Benjamin Allen, Rachel Lembeck, Wesley Lembeck, and Alexis Haskins. 

He was also survived by his sister-in-law, Sherry Allen, and many loving nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Alcine Allen, his brothers, William Allen, Howard Allen, Kenneth Allen, and his sisters, Florence Tidmarsh, Harriet Stocker, and Gladys Iverson. 

Ray was a 68-year member of Hotchkiss Hose Company #1 in Derby. 

His many fraternal and civic activities include being a Mason, Shriner, Order of Eastern Star, Order of Amaranth, Cub Scout Master, little league coach. 

Ray also served as a member of the Transportation Corps of the Shriners, and past captain of the Derby Fire Police, and was honored to be twice named the Grand Marshal of the Derby Shelton Memorial Day parade. Calling hours will be Friday, November 12, from 4 – 8. Regardless of vaccination status, masks are required. 

Funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 13, at 10a.m. at the funeral home, followed by interment at Mount St. Peter’s Cemetery, Derby. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children, Springfield, MA, through the funeral director. Jenkins King & Malerba Funeral Home in Ansonia is entrusted with his care.
