Raymond E. Lafferty

Raymond E. Lafferty, age 86, beloved husband of the late Eileen (Thomas) Lafferty, entered peaceful rest on Saturday, June 7, 2025 in the Cheshire House of Waterbury. Born in Beacon Falls on January 22, 1939, he was a son of the late George, Sr. and Anna (Sanford) Lafferty.

A retired shop foreman for the CT Dept. of Transportation, Ray was a proud veteran serving during the Korean War. He loved working on cars, whether it be repairing or building from the ground up, as well as collecting coins and going to tag sales. He had a passion for baseball, especially the NY Yankees, and could always be found talking baseball with his brother and best friend, the late George Sonny” Lafferty, Jr. They spent a lot of time together and even operated the Pines Bridge Cemetery in Beacon Falls. Family was most important to Ray and he especially enjoyed being around his grandchildren.

Survivors include his children, Raymond Robbie” Lafferty of Naugatuck, Christopher M. Lafferty of Bethlehem, and Timothy G. Lafferty of Beacon Falls; cherished grandchildren, Christopher Anderson of Naugatuck, Mary Ellen Fama and her husband Thomas of Naugatuck, Benjamin Lafferty of Bethlehem and Grace Lafferty of Bethlehem. In addition to his loving wife, Eileen, and his parents, Ray was predeceased by his daughter, Julia A. Anderson; grandson, Sean T. Rosler; and his siblings, George Sonny” Lafferty, Jr., Helen Gelmini, and Elizabeth Lafferty.

Mass of Christian Burial and interment with full military honors will be held at a time to be announced. The Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 W. Church St., Seymour, CT 06483 has been entrusted with his arrangements.
