Raymond John Yonco, age 82, of Shelton, entered peacefully into rest on Friday, July 5, 2024 at Bishop Wicke Health Center. He is the beloved husband of 60 years of Mary (Asaro) Yonco. Ray was born in Manhattan on Christmas Day, December 25, 1941, son of the late John and Anna (Mychlin) Yonco, lived for many years in Astoria, NY, spent time in New Jersey and has lived in Shelton for the past 46 years.
He served his country with the United States Navy and built a career as an information technology professional, retiring from Zotos International in Darien as the VP of IT. Ray was a longtime Corvette enthusiast and was a member of Club Corvette of Connecticut. He loved schnauzers, enjoyed traveling, especially his many trips to Italy, drinking wine and spending time with his family.
He is the beloved father of Laura Sheehy and her husband George and Lisa Bisson and her husband Scott, and proud grandfather of Thomas, Daniel, and Lia Sheehy, and Megan and Joseph Bisson. Raymond was predeceased by his sister, Gloria Kosuch.
Friends may greet the family at the Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Road, Shelton, on Thursday from 5 to 7 PM. On Friday his procession will leave the parlor at 10:30 for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM at St. Lawrence Church in Shelton. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Shelton.
