Raymond Roy Rochon, age 60, of Seymour, entered into rest on Tuesday, November 7, 2023, at Waterbury Hospital. He was born in Newport, RI on May 31, 1963, son of Roy Rochon and the late Marie Jeanne (Langlais) Rochon.
Ray started his career at the Brownson Country Club in Shelton where he earned the nickname wrench. He went on to work at the Westport Country Club and then finished his career at Heritage Village Golf Course in Southbury. He volunteered as a field mechanic for the Shelton National Little League program and helped to start the Emmett O’Brien School Football Team. Ray loved to ride his Harley-Davidson.
He is the beloved father of Justin Rochon and his wife Destiny, and Jay Veillette, and is the proud grandfather of Aubrey and Colton. He also leaves his former spouse, Sandra Veilette, his sister Michelle Wahlquist, niece Jessica, and nephew Brett. He was predeceased by his brother, Steve Rochon.
The Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Road, Shelton is entrusted with the funeral arrangements. His family will host a Celebration of Life on Saturday, November 18, 2023 at the American Legion Sutter-Terlizzi Post #16, 295 Old Bridgeport Ave, Shelton, from 3 pm to 6 pm. A service will take place at 4 PM.
