Regina V. (Kuczynski) Michaels

Regina V. (Kuczynski) Michaels, age 81, of Seymour, died on Saturday, December 29, 2012 after a long illness. 

She lived with her daughter, Linda Koproski Jacobucci Kraigenow and her son-in-law John W. Kraigenow for 2 years. Mrs. Michaels was born in Derby on January 9, 1931, the daughter of the late Frank & Anna Mikolaitis Kuczynski in Seymour. 

She was married to the late Leonard J. Michaels for 27 years living on South Main Street, Seymour. 

Mrs. Michaels was retired from Uniroyal and spent many happy years as a homemaker. She was known for her generosity of baking dozens of fruit cakes and large amounts of chocolate candy every Christmas and gifted them to many people. 

She always had a pocket full of hard candy to hand out to a check out person, clerk or anyone young or old that she encountered. 

She loved gardening daffodils and lilies, and enjoyed country music as well as the company of her devoted cats. 

Besides her daughter and son-in-law, she leaves four sisters Nellie Reese of California, Janet Carrington of Bethany,CT., Barbara Hoppe of Oklahoma and Wanda Podgewaite of Seymour. 

She had two brothers who predeceased her, Frank (Sonny) Kuczynski, Jr. and Henry (Bubbles) Kuczynski both of Seymour, and several nieces and nephews. 

A Graveside Service will be held (directly) at North West Cemetery, Seymour Rd. (Rte 67), Corner of Peck Hill Rd., Woodbridge,CT, on Friday, January 4, 2013 at 11:00 A.M., where the ashes of Regina and Leonard Michaels will be interred. 

The Reverend Bruce Steinway, Pastor of Immanuel Lutheran Church of Oxford, is officiating. There will be no calling hours. 

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, through the funeral home. The family is looking for a home for her two 12 year old cats, if interested please call (203) 231‑9979.
