Rev. William “Bill” Thomas Miller, 89, died on October 31, 2017 at his residence in Columbia, MD.
He was born on May 1, 1928 to the late Murvin T. and Almeda M. Miller in Stewartstown, PA where he was raised. He graduated from Stewartstown High School and then in 1953 he graduated from West Virginia Wesleyan College. He attended Westminster Theological Seminary graduating in 1956.
Rev. Miller served as a Methodist minister for 38 years at various churches the last of which was Magothy United Methodist Church in Pasadena, MD. Upon his retirement in 1992 Bill and his wife Loretta moved to Howard County where they have lived for the past 25 years. Rev. Miller currently attended Linden-Linthicum United Methodist Church in Clarksville, MD. He enjoyed painting with oils and water colors, reading, and history.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his daughter Melissa Anne Miller.
Rev. Miller is survived by his wife of 63 years, Loretta J. Miller, his son Joel B. Miller and his wife Lyn, his brother Robert E. Miller, and his grandchildren Wesley A. and Abigail M. Miller.
Friends may call on Sunday from 3:00 to 5:00 and Monday from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at the Linden-Linthicum United Methodist Church 12101 Linden-Linthicum Lane Clarksville, MD 21209 where funeral services will be held on Monday at 11:00 AM. Interment Stewartstown Cemetery, Stewartstown, PA.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Melissa Anne Miller Nursing Scholarship at the WV Wesleyan College 59 College Aveue Buckhannon, WV 26201.
