Richard A. Gabianelli Sr., 69, of Derby, peacefully entered into eternal rest on Friday morning, January 25, 2013, in the comfort of his home and family. He was the beloved husband of Marie A. Cerritelli Gabianelli.
Mr. Gabianelli was born in Derby on September 17, 1943, son of the late Bruno and Sally Mazzola Gabianelli. A resident of Derby for most of his life, he was employed as a truck driver until his retirement. Rich was an avid hunter and fisherman and a member of the Naugatuck Valley Bass Masters Club.
In addition to his wife Marie, he is survived by two loving sons, Richard A. Gabianelli Jr. of Seymour and Jeffrey L. Gabianelli and his wife Kelly of Beacon Falls, a brother, Robert Gabianelli and his wife Ann of Derby, a sister, Sandra Watson and her husband James of Derby, four cherished grandchildren, Kevin and Lindsey Gabianelli of Beacon Falls and Kyle and Ashley Gabianelli of Seymour and several nieces, nephews and friends. He was predeceased by a daughter, Deidra Marie Gabianelli.
Visiting hours will take place on Tuesday January 29, 2013, from 9:00 am until 10:30 am in the chapel of the SPINELLI-RICCIUTI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia.
At 10:30 am, his funeral will process to St. Mary’s Church in Derby for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11:00 am. Interment will follow in Mt. St. Peter’s Cemetery in Derby.
