Richard David Urbanczyk, age 76, of Shelton entered into rest on Tuesday, March 1, 2022 at Bridgeport Hospital.
He was born in Derby on March 27, 1945 son of the late John and Justine (Krupa) Urbanczyk, Sr.
Richard attended Ferry and Fowler Elementary Schools and Shelton High School. Richard worked many years as a chef at The River Restaurant in Derby and The Caloroso Eatery and Bar in Shelton. He loved dogs and was passionate about work.
Richard was the beloved brother of John J. (Mary) Urbanczyk, Jr. of Shelton and William E. (Mickey) Urbanczyk of North Carolina, Eileen M. (Tom) Craig of Milford and Carol A. Carotenuto of Ansonia. He was also survived by five nieces, three nephews and several grandnieces and grandnephews. Richard was predeceased by a sister, Margaret A. Urbanczyk and a brother Thomas J. Urbanczyk.
On Tuesday, friends may greet the family from 4 to 6 PM at the Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Rd., Shelton. His funeral service will follow at 6PM at the parlor. His burial will be at St. Michael Cemetery, Derby in the spring.
