Richard E. Ewen, 80, formerly of Ansonia & Seymour CT, passed away on 1/9/17, in Palm Beach Florida, surrounded by his loving family after a short illness.
Rich was born in Washington DC, and relocated with his parents to CT. He proudly served with the Marine Corp from 1955 – 1959, as a seagoing Marine traveling the world on Navy ships. He was retired from the New Haven Register & Valley Medical Supply. Rich loved football and when he lived in the Valley you saw him at Nolan Field watching his beloved Ansonia Chargers. He was also an avid NY Yankee, Giant and Uconn Huskies fan.
He leaves behind his loving wife of 59 years Arlene (Parzyck) Ewen, two sons Gary & his partner Karen Pelaggi of Ft. Myers Fl. and Timothy (Shawn), of Lake Worth Fl. grandchildren Kasey (Matt) Pittman of Fernandina Beach Fl, and Konnor and Tristan Ewen of Lake Worth Fl., great grand children Taylor and Maddison Pittman of Fernandina Beach Fl., a brother Jack (Beth) Ewen of Seymour Ct. and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son Richard Ewen.
In lieu of Flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Ansonia Gridiron Club and sent to Tom Brockett 20 Pulaski Highway Ansonia 06401.
Services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
