Richard L. Clark, Jr.

Richard L. Clark, Jr., age 59 of Oxford, beloved husband of Karen (Chicoski) Clark, entered peaceful rest in his home surrounded by family on Monday, June 27, 2022 after fighting a good fight against cancer for the past two years. Born in Derby on November 24, 1962, he was a son of the late Richard L. Sr. and Vivian (Heyse) Clark.

A longtime employee for Sikorsky, Rich was known as Craig” to a few and The Flying Dutchman” to many. A quiet hero to the underdog, he was an avid fan of the Cleveland Indians and Cleveland Browns. Rich never cared where he went but loved the journey, traveling around the country trying out various cuisines, especially his favorite tradition of eating his way through the Big E. A dedicated supporter for the Special Olympics, he also participated in the Special Olympics World Games held in CT in 1995. His love of giving extended to volunteering for VARCA (Derby) as well as filling the role of Santa over the years for many organizations, the last being the Annual Seymour Christmas Parade. Rich was a generous man and lovingly quirky who will be sorely missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his beloved wife, Karen, of 28 years, survivors include his loving sons, Justin Hilton and his wife Rachael of KY, Nathanial Hilton and his wife Amanda of CO, and Richard L. Clark, III of VT; siblings, Stuart Clark of Shelton, Carrie Dansreau of Shelton and Sallie Barlow of Thomaston; two adored grandchildren, Ava and Landon Hilton, who affectionately knew him as Pa”; his father and mother-in-law, Joseph and Kathy Chicoski, whom he would never trade in for the world”, as well as a loving uncle to many nieces and nephews.

The Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 W. Church St., Seymour, CT 06483 has been entrusted with his arrangements and all services will be private at the convenience of the family.
