Richard Lenehan, 72, unexpectedly entered into eternal rest on January 2, 2016, at Griffin Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Janice Zavednak Lenehan.
Mr. Lenehan was born in Derby on August 3, 1943, son of the late Andrew and Catherine Irene Donovan Lenahan. A lifelong resident of Derby, he was employed as a machine operator at Allied Signal in Stratford until his retirement. Richard was an avid golfer, a fan of NASCAR and the NY Yankees and especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
In addition to his wife Janice, he is survived by a loving son, Jay J. Lenehan and his wife Rebecca of McKinney, TX, a loving daughter, Jennifer Karpovich and her husband Jason of Seymour, cherished grandchildren, Nicholas and Kerilyn Karpovich and Nathan Lenehan. He was predeceased by a sister, Maureen Scott.
His funeral service will be private and burial will take place in Mt. St. Peter Cemetery in Derby. The SPINELLI-RICCIUTI/BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia, has been privileged with the arrangements.
