Richard Matto, age 74, a lifetime resident of Derby, entered into eternal rest on November 24, 2023, in his home. He was born on March 25, 1949, in Derby, son of the late Charles and Philomena (Voccia) Matto. Richard proudly served his country in the United States Army and worked as a postal worker for the United States Postal Service prior to his retirement. He liked investing in real estate as a hobby and he loved spending time with his family.
Richard is the brother of Joseph Matto and uncle of Christpher Matto, Mark Onofrio, and Sandra Mulholland. He was predeceased by his sisters Donna Mulholland and Phyllis Onofrio and niece Karen Onofrio.
Friends are invited to greet the family on Friday, December 1, 2023, from 10:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Edward F. Adzima Funeral Home, 253 Elizabeth Street, Derby. Richard’s funeral service will take place in the funeral home at 11:00 a.m.. Burial with full Military Honors will follow at Mount Saint Peter Cemetery in Derby.
