Rita C. DeLeo, of Woodbridge passed away peacefully in her home on March 30, 2025.
Born in New Haven on December 25, 1944, daughter of the late Giacomo and Raffaela Anastasio, Rita was a bookkeeper for Finest Supermarket for many years.
She was an avid UCONN Huskies fan and enjoyed cooking and caring for her family. Nobody ever went hungry at Rita’s table.
Rita leaves behind her devoted husband, Frank; her sister, Lenora Harney, and niece, Heather; her brother, Anthony Anastasio, his wife Sandy, and their children Joe wife Sara, Andrew, and his wife Priscilla; her son, John and his wife Katie and her adored grandchildren, Jack and Vinny; her brother and sister-in-law, Mary and Eugene Shine; her niece, Rose Bettens and her husband, Ron, along with their son, Nick Bettens, and her niece Michele Shine.
Visiting hours will be held Thursday morning from 9:00 – 10:30 in the Iovanne Funeral Home, Inc. 11 Wooster Place in New Haven. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Our Lady of the Assumption Church at 11:00. Burial will follow in St. Lawrence Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Seymour Pink, PO Box 333 Seymour, CT 06483 to help fight against breast cancer.
