Rita P. Moskal, 77, of Ansonia, peacefully entered into eternal rest on May 17, 2014, at the Arden House in Hamden. She was the devoted wife of the late Andrew S. Moskal.
Mrs. Moskal was born in Bridgeport on July 13, 1936, daughter of the late Anthony and Pauline Raslavski Krafcik. She resided in Stratford until moving to Ansonia in 1973 and was employed at Caspari in Seymour for many years until her retirement. She was a communicant of the Church of the Assumption in Ansonia where she sang in the choir. Rita was also an active member of the Ansonia Senior Center and the Red Hat Society and was known for her fashion with hats and scarves.
She is survived by a loving son, Paul A. Moskal (Christine) of Hamden, two loving daughters, Elizabeth Alshuk of Derby and Monica Masiero (Ronald) of Seymour, cherished grandchildren, Erin, Matthew and Casey Moskal, Ashley and Michael Masiero, Jennifer Merithew (Jason) and Andrew Alshuk, two great grandchildren, Jason Merithew and Teagan Clifford and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brothers, William, Anthony and Albert Krafcik and a sister, Irene Leahy.
Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday May 20, 2014, from 4 – 7 pm in the chapel of the SPINELLI-RICCIUTI/BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia. On Wednesday, her funeral will be held at 8:45 am from the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 am at the Church of the Assumption in Ansonia. Interment will take place in Mt. St. Peter Cemetery in Derby.
