Robert Bruce Robinson, 53 of Ansonia, was called home to a peaceful rest on March 16th. He was born June 8, 1969 in Derby, CT, to mother, Saundra Edmonds Robinson and father, the late Andrew Robinson of Ansonia. Robert grew up in Ansonia, CT, and graduated from Ansonia Public Schools. He was given the nickname Robo in early childhood. Robo was athletic his entire life; he was a star football player who broke several records and led his team to many championships. A proud Ansonia Charger. Throughout his life, Robert excelled in many skillful trades. A handyman, he most recently worked in custodial duties for The Ansonia Nature Center.
In addition to his mother Saundra, he is survived by his loving family, including his children, Christine of Wallingford, Charmaine & Grace of Seymour, and Olivia & Cheyenne of Ansonia. He is also survived by his sister Tina, brother Carl, uncles Charles and Richard, and aunts Deborah, Lana, Queenie, Diane, Sarah, Portia, Kathy, Maria, Terry & Vallette. He was predeceased by his sister Dee.
Robert was a genuinely kind man and was dedicated to helping others. Robo was a proud “Girl Dad”, often boasting proudly about his daughters and their various accomplishments. As a devoted Christian, he truly believed in treating everyone with respect and humbly serving without judgment. He was a pillar of his community and will be dearly missed by everyone.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 24th at 11:00 a.m. at the Clinton A.M.E. Zion Church in Ansonia. Calling hour is from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. directly before the service. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery. The Jenkins King & Malerba Funeral Home, 12 Franklin St. Ansonia, has been privileged with the arrangements.
