Robert C. Dalton, age 81, of Shelton, entered into his eternal rest on Tuesday, June 17, 2014 in the Bishop Wicke Health Center in Shelton with his loving family by his side. He was the devoted husband of the late Helen Malec Dalton.
Bob was born in Derby on February 8, 1933, son of the late John and Marguerite (Rumble) Dalton, and was a lifelong Shelton resident. Bob was an accountant at Sikorsky Aircraft in Stratford for over 40 years before retiring in 1993. He was a long time communicant of St. Joseph Church in Shelton, a former member of St. Joe’s Parish Council, the father’s club, and was a basketball coach for his children at St. Joseph’s Grammar School.
He is the beloved father of Robert J. Dalton,and his wife Lori, Karen Dalton, Coleen Dalton Agvent and her husband Don, and Lynn Dalton Mallon and her husband Patrick. He also leaves nine cherished grandchildren, Patrick and his wife Elysha, James, Brian and Steven Mallon, Donald and Timothy Agvent, and Robert M., Megan, and Katie Dalton, three great-grandchildren, Dima, Natalya, and Sadie, and several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by two brothers, Ronald “Buddy” Dalton and John (Jay) Dalton.
Friends may greet his family on Thursday from 4 to 7 PM in the Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Road Shelton. On Friday his funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 10:00 AM for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM in St. Joseph Church Shelton. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Shelton.
