Robert C. O’Bidinski Sr.

Robert C. O’Bidinski Sr., 73, peacefully entered into eternal rest on January 30, 2017, at Smilow Cancer Hospital in New Haven. He was the beloved husband of 49 years to Sandra Szostek O’Bidinski.

Mr. O’Bidinski was born in Bridgeport on December 19, 1943, son of the late Chester and Esther Stanczak O’Bidinski. Following high school, he honorably served in the U.S. Army. A resident of Seymour for 43 years, he was employed as a sales representative for Farrel Corporation until his retirement in 2015. Robert enjoyed visiting the casino, listening to music and playing the guitar. He collected guitars and music from the 1950’s.

In addition to his wife Sandra, he is survived by a loving son, Robert C. O’Bidinski Jr. of Hoboken, NJ, a loving daughter, Christine O’Bidinski of Oxford, sisters, Carol Winslow and Doris Neto of Trumbull and several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral on Friday February 3, 2017, at 11:00 am at St. Joseph’s Church, 32 Jewett Street in Ansonia for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family. Visiting will take place on FRIDAY MORNING from 9:00 am until the procession leaves for church in the SPINELLI-RICCIUTI/BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia. 

In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Robert can be made to the Closer to Free Fund, which jointly supports Smilow Cancer Hospital at Yale-New Haven and Yale Cancer Center.
