Robert E. Jersey, age 64, entered eternal rest on January 1, 2024, at Bridgeport Hospital. He was the loving husband of thirty-one years to Mary Krok Jersey.
Robert was born in Milford on April 11, 1959, son of the late Stuart and Dolores Warner Jersey. He began his career employed at Dresser Industries in Stratford then served as a Newtown Police Officer. For the last nineteen years, Robert was employed at Yale-New Haven Hospital as a senior protective service officer. He enjoyed weight lifting, working out, road trips, movies, and vacations in New Hampshire. Robert also loved spending time with his precious granddaughters.
In addition to his wife Mary, Robert leaves to cherish his memory, a loving daughter, Mariah Gumpert (Jesse) of Terryville, CT, a sister, Kathleen Morin (Serge) of Naugatuck, granddaughters, Joy and Jacqueline Gumpert, sister-in-law, Donna Jersey of Milford, and brother-in-law, James Keating of Milford along with many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, grand-nephews and other sisters and brothers-in-law. He was predeceased by his brother, Ronald Jersey and his sister, Andrea Keating.
Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family and pay their respects on Thursday, January 11, 2023, from 4:00 – 7:00 pm in the chapel of SPINELLI-RICCIUTI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia. On Friday morning, all are invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial by meeting directly at 11:00 am at Holy Rosary Church in Ansonia.
