Robert J. Walsh, age 71, of Derby entered into rest on Thursday July 2, 2015 in CT. Hospice with his loving family by his side. He is the devoted husband of 47 years to Patricia (UVA) Walsh.
He was born in Bridgeport on August 20, 1943, son of the late Thomas and Josephine (Blake) Walsh and was a Ansonia resident until moving to Derby 40 years ago. Robert was a Teacher in the Ansonia School System for 35 years, spending the last 13 years as a Computer Teacher at all the schools, before his retirement. He was a member of the Ansonia Federation of Teachers, the Knights of Columbus, Derby Lodge of Elks #571, St. Michael Catholic War Veterans, and Highland Golf Course. Robert loved reading and computers.
He is also survived by his sister MaryEllen Lukacsy and her husband Jim, a niece Amy Lukacsy and a nephew Stephen Lukacsy, his mother-in-law Jean Uva and many cousins from the Blake and Walsh Families.
Friends may call on Tuesday July 7, 2015 from 5 to 7 pm at the Edward F. Adzima Funeral Home 253 Elizabeth St. Derby. His funeral will leave the funeral home on Wednesday at 9:15 am for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in St. Jude Church, 71 Pleasantview Rd. Derby. Entombment will follow in Mt. St. Peter Garden Mausoleum.
