Robert J. Laskowski Sr., age 75, entered eternal rest on July 10, 2023, at Waterbury Hospital, following years of declining health.
Robert was born in Derby on January 14, 1948, son of the late Chester and Giovanna Russo Laskowski. A graduate of Derby High School in 1965, he proudly played football. He was employed as an advertising salesman for the Waterbury Republican and New Haven Register newspapers and the former Evening Sentinel newspaper.
A lifelong Valley resident, Bob was an avid boater and salt water fisherman and a member of the Harbor Valley Yacht Club in Shelton. An exceptional drummer, he was a member of the CT Hurricanes Drum & Bugle Corp., CT Hurricanes Alumni Senior Drum & Bugle Corp., CT Royal Lancers, and the Park City Pride. He was a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus Holy Rosary Council 10537 and a parishioner of Holy Rosary Church in Ansonia. Bob enjoyed bowling and was a fan of NASCAR, especially the late Dale Earnhardt Sr. as well as a diehard fan of the New York Jets and the New York Yankees.
He leaves to cherish his memory, a son, Robert J. Laskowski Jr. (Melissa) of New Bern, NC, a daughter, Tricia Figueroa (Daniel) of Naugatuck, a brother, Francis Laskowski of Derby, former wife and friend, Patricia (Curd) Laskowski of Shelton and many friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family and pay their respects on Friday, July 14, 2023, from 4:00 to 7:00 pm in the chapel of the SPINELLI-RICCIUTI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia.
On Saturday, July 15, 2023, all are invited to attend his funeral by meeting directly at 10:00 am at Holy Rosary Church, 10 Father Salemi Drive in Ansonia for a Mass of Christian Burial.
