Robert R. (Bob) Lynn

It is with profound sadness to announce that on Monday, June 24th, 2024, Robert R. (Bob) Lynn of Stafford Springs, CT, suddenly passed away from complications after suffering a stroke. 

He was born in Derby, CT to the late Mary Gona and Robert V. Lynn and grew up in Shelton where he played baseball throughout his youth and was scouted by the Philadelphia Phillies while pitching for Shelton High School. He went on to join the US Army and enlisted to serve in Viet Nam in 1967. Following his tour he settled in Stafford Springs and began his lifelong career at SNET, which later became AT&T, as a lineman until his retirement. 

Bob enjoyed his retirement living a quiet life with trips to Newport, training regularly at the gym and visits with his sister, his cousins and friends and cherished time with his dog. He was a fan of the Boston Red Sox and old western movies, especially those starring John Wayne. He was even nicknamed Duke by some of his friends. Bob was a member of the American Legion Post 0026 in Stafford Springs, VFW Post 9990 and the Rockville Elks #1359.

He is survived by his sister, Debra Lynn, his 2 daughters, Teresa Rogers and Deana Sansouci, 4 grandchildren, many cousins and friends, and his beloved dog. 

A memorial service will take place on Monday, July 8, 2024 at 1PM at the James T. Toohey & Son Funeral Home, 92 Howe Ave., Shelton followed by Full Military Honors. Interment will be private. Calling hours will be held Monday morning from 10:30AM until time of service.
