Robert R. Geffert, Sr., age 89, of Shelton entered into rest on Sunday, January 2, 2022 at Marbridge Assisted Living & Memory Care with his loving family by his side.
He was the devoted husband of 55 years to the late Antonetta “Nettie” (Schirillo) Geffert. Robert was born in Hazelton, PA on February 11, 1932, son of the late Joseph P. and Mary (Dayock) Geffert and was a Shelton resident since 1972.
He proudly served with the US Air Force during the Korean war from 1952 – 1956. He worked for UPS for many years until his retirement. After his retirement, he worked part-time as a delivery driver at City Line Florist. Robert loved spending time with his family, he especially cherished his grandson Justin.
He was the beloved father of Robert R. Geffert, Jr. and his wife Elisa, brother of William Geffert and his wife Judy and Mary Ellen Mangione and brother-in-law of Ann Marie Geffert and Daniel Scinto. Robert was also survived by several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his loving grandson Justin Michael Geffert, a brother Joseph Geffert, a sister Kathleen Scinto and a brother-in-law Gino Mangione.
Friends may call on Thursday from 4 to 7 PM at the Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Rd., Shelton. On Saturday, his funeral service will be held at 11 AM at the funeral home. Family and friends are required to wear masks. His burial will be in the spring at Lawn Cemetery, East.
