Robert Ryan

Robert Ryan, 78 of Ansonia, beloved husband of Deborah Ryan, passed away peacefully on Oct. 26, 2016 with his loving family by his side.

Bob was born in Bridgeport on April 26, 1938, to William and Beatrice Ryan. 

Bob was one of thirteen children born to William and Beatrice. 

Bob was a retired tow motor operator at Casco Products in Bridgeport, where he worked for more 20 years. He retired in 2002. 

Bob was United States Army veteran during the Vietnam War. 

During his retirement Bob helped raise and care for his grandchildren, whom he loved and adored more than anything. 

Bob was an avid Red Sox fan. When you saw him, he was never without his Boston Red Sox hat. 

Bob was also an active member of the VFW Post 145 in Bridgeport, and the Catholic War Veterans of Derby. 

His proudest accomplishment was his family.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his loving children, Taneil Quattrucci, and her husband Mario, of Ansonia; Casey Cornish of Ansonia; Jackie Sims and her husband, Gary, of Shelton. 

He is also survived by his grandchildren, Dakota Mitchell of Alabama, Ryan, AJ, & Nathan Cornish, all of Ansonia, and Brooklyn Dimatteo of Ansonia. He will also be missed by his brother, John Ryan and his wife, Deborah, of Seymour.

He will be missed by his many nieces and nephews as well.

There will be no calling hours or funeral per Bob’s wishes.
