Robert “Bob” V. Fortier, age 88 passed away peacefully on Aug. 28. He was the beloved husband of Delia (Lucarelli) Fortier.
He was born in Waterbury CT on March 21, 1930. Bob was the son of the late Henry and Adrian Fortier.
He was predeceased by a daughter Claudia Fortier and twin sisters Marilyn Fortier White & Doris Fortier Cuddy.
Bob was the owner & president of his own screw machine manufacturing company Superior Swiss Manufacturing in Plantsville, T. Later selling that business to bring his knowledge to Supreme Lake Manufacturing, also in Plantsville. He later retired from Airpax Co. in Cheshire. Bob loved working with his hands and tinkering in his garage. He had a love for antique cars, owning many. He was a member of the Antique Auto Club and enjoyed time spent at car shows with friends.
In addition to his wife Delia Lucarelli Fortier of Derby, he leaves to cherish his memory his daughter Kim Fortier Bohigian and his brother Richard Fortier, both of Southington, two grandchildren Ashley Bohigian Brown & husband Kalen Brown of Stonington, Chad Bohigian & wife Eliza Bohigian of Andover, MA., great granddaughter Olivia Claudia Brown, his former wife Josephine “Jo-Jo” Fortier of Southington, step children Fabio Lucarelli of Derby, Linda Orazietti & husband Danny of Shelton and Debra Lucarelli Amodio of Branford and many nieces & nephews. Bob was loved by many family and friends and will be greatly missed.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, Sept. 7 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Thomas Church, 99 Bristol St. Southington, CT. Burial will be private. There are no calling hours.
