Robert Vincze

Robert Vincze, age 89 of Shelton, CT, passed in peace on February 2, 2022 at Gardner Heights in Shelton. He was known to his friends as Bob and to the lucky few as Uncle Bob.

He was the oldest of 9 siblings and was predeceased by 7 of them. He served in the Army during the Korean War, worked at Scap in the body shop, and owned the Joynt Cafe with his brother, John. Although he never had his own children, his heart and love was for all of his nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews which there are too many to list.

Described as one-of-a-kind”, he was a man of few words but those words touched and changed so many lives — which in the end changed and fulfilled his own life. He lived his last years with his cherished niece Markell who he referred to as his guardian angel. He gave so much of himself to her but if you asked him she gave him the best gift ever, his two granddaughters” Gianna and Ella.

One thing Bob will be remembered for are his stories as he loved nothing more than to reminisce about the good old times. He lived quite a life to hear these stories — from Vegas to the Caribbean. Hopefully you were lucky enough to be included in them. He also had a passion for sailing or simply laying out in the sun in his famous shorts”. He was a private person and showed his love in his own way.

Like one of his favorites, he did it his way.” He will be missed beyond measure and forever cherished as the legendary Uncle Bob”. Keeping with his nature, all funeral services will be held privately. Arrangements were entrusted to the Galello-Luchansky Funeral Home, 2220 Main Street, Stratford. For those wishing to honor his life, please make donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. To celebrate his life, please visit us at www.galellofuneralhome.com
