Robert W. Moore, age 64, husband to Agnes Haviland Moore and former New Haven and Seymour resident currently of Ansonia, entered into eternal rest on Nov. 23 after a three year battle with emphysema and coronary artery disease.
He was born Nov. 9, 1945 in San Francisco, California, son of the late Clifford and Josephine Bednarz Moore.
A graduate of Sacred Heart Cathedral Prep School in San Francisco, he worked as an operating room assistant for Yale and St. Raphael’s Hospital and was an avid painter and model train enthusiast.
The military played a large part of Robert’s life, he served three years active duty in the U.S. Air Force and three years in the Ct. Air National Guard and fourteen years in the naval reserves. He retired as a H.M.1. 1st Class Petty Officer Hospital Corpsmen and was a member of the Emil Senger American Legion Post of Seymour.
In addition to his wife Agnes, he leaves two sons, Frederick Moore of Branford and Alexander Moore of Ansonia, his daughter Dottie Jo Moore-Markey of Branford, three brothers, Thomas & Michael Moore of Califonia, Chuck Moore of Hawaii and two sisters, Mary Bernstein & Carol Ann Moore, both of California, and by five grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, Nov. 30, at 10:00 a.m. with friends asked to go directly to St. Augustine Church in Seymour.
Burial with military honors will follow in the Veterans’ Cemetery in Middletown. There are no calling hours.
