Rodney Omar Francis, age 67, of Shelton, entered into rest suddenly on Saturday, July 28, 2012.
He is the devoted husband of almost 50 years to Patricia (Campbell) Francis.
Rodney was born in Lewiston, Maine on Sept. 21, 1944, son of the late Halvor and Violet (Tripp) Francis.
Prior to his retirement Rodney was a construction foreman for many years at West Rock Asphalt and Louis Gherlone Excavating.
Rodney loved trips to Maine to visit his extended family and going to country fairs. He loved working on trucks with his son, Hal.
He was also known for baking muffins and reminiscing about the past with his family and friends.
He is the beloved father of Linda Sicinski and her husband, Carl, Bernadine Gilbert and her husband, Kevin, Sharon Heltzel and Halvor Francis.
He is the cherished brother of Omar Francis (Donna) to whom he was very close, William Francis (Joe Flynn), Gloria Iasparra (Rocco) and Glenda Barrett.
He was very proud of his 9 grandchildren, Amanda, Jennifer, Megan, David, Spencer, Mackenzie, Tanya, Tyler and Jayson.
He also leaves many treasured nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by twin infant sons and a brother, Erwin Francis.
Friends may greet his family on Wednesday from 4 to 7 PM in the Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Road, Shelton.
On Thursday a funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Lawn Cemetery, Shelton.
