Romeo Gagne, age 75, of Seymour, entered into rest on Friday, July 26, 2024 at the Grimes Center in New Haven. He was the beloved husband of 47 years of the late Karen (Groll) Gagne. Romeo was born in Norwalk on February 22, 1949, son of the late Henry and Bernadette (Genest) Gagne and lived in Seymour for over fifty years.
He served his country with the United States Army, and had a career as a Tractor Trailer Driver. Romeo enjoyed the outdoors, especially on his fishing boat, and feeding the birds in his back yard. He and his wife Karen cheered for the NY Yankees and were NASCAR fans. He also enjoyed trips to the casino and seasonal time spent in Florida with his wife Karen. Romeo liked a good cigar and a plate of linguini with clams.
He is survived by his niece, Jessica Genest, and by cousins Paul Genest, Robert Genest, Marcel Genest, Claude Genest, Pauline Genest, Simone Crespo and Mary Ellen Genest, as well as his brother-in-law Philip Groll and wife Dixie of Texas. He was predeceased by three cousins, Gaetan Genest, Roland Genest, and Roger Genest.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Road, Shelton. Friends are invited to join the family at a graveside service at Mt. St. Peter Cemetery, in Derby on Tuesday July 30 at 11 AM.
