Ronald B. Cibroski, age 76, of Bethany, CT, passed away on June 6th, 2021 at Yale-New Haven Hospital.
Born on May 19, 1944 in Stafford Springs, CT to the late Adam and Anna Cibroski. Ron graduated from the University of CT with a BA in Finance in 1968 and later obtained a Master’s in Business Administration in 1973. Ron also had additional education from Stanford and Harvard Universities. After college, Ron obtained a pilot’s license for single engine planes. Ron married his college sweetheart Ann Maria Maffeo on July 12th 1969 at St. Mary’s Church in Derby, CT.
Ron loved his family and friends especially his two children, Bryan Cibroski and wife Elizabeth of Floral Park, NY and Stephanie Nelson and husband Ross of Bethany, CT and his beloved granddaughter, Lorelai Nelson. Also surviving Ron is his brother Ken and his wife Robin of Winchester, VA along with two nieces Kathleen Thut of Cape Cod, MA and Allison Hamilton of Ashburn, VA.
In 1974, Ron started as an accountant at AMF (now Cuno) in Meriden, CT. After a year he was promoted to Controller. By the 1980’s, he was promoted again to Vice President and then President. While working for AMF, he traveled to France, Germany, Mexico, Brazil, Australia and Japan. He also travelled to many different states in the US. After leaving Cuno, Ron started his own water filtration company in 1992 called A.M. Fluid Equipment, which is still in operation.
When Ron was not working, he enjoyed his motorcycles, custom van and cars. He also enjoyed playing racquetball, softball and golf. Ron still loved to travel on weekends. He was a fan of UConn women’s basketball. Ron learned how to operate construction equipment from his Uncle Stanley. No project was too big for Ron. He was very active in the building of his homes in Seymour, CT in 1973 and Bethany, CT in 1991.
Ron never believed in retirement. He was working right up to his last few days. He was a man of many talents and was a brilliant businessman and very active in politics. Ron also served on the Board of Finance in Seymour, CT. He loved the holidays with his family, especially Christmas, and was known for cooking too much food. He was very much loved and will be missed greatly.
Visiting hours will be held on Thursday June 10, 2021, from 4:00 to 7:00 pm in the chapel of the SPINELLI-RICCIUTI/BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia. On Friday, June 11, 2021, his Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am at St. Mary’s Church, (Our Lady Queen of the Apostles Parish), 212 Elizabeth Street in Derby. Please meet directly at the church. Masks are required to attend both the visitation and Mass. Entombment will immediately follow in Mt. St. Peter Garden Mausoleum in Derby.
