Ronald J. “Butch” Balabon

Ronald J. Butch” Balabon, age 80, entered into eternal rest on February 11, 2021 at CT Hospice in Branford. He was the loving and devoted husband of Priscilla Sybil” Zenkus Balabon.

Mr. Balabon was born in Derby on August 20, 1940, son of the late Thomas J. and Mildred Commune Balabon. He was employed at Sikorsky Aircraft for 41 years.

Ron was a lifelong communicant of Holy Rosary Church where he served as chairman of the Italian Festival for twelve years. He was the recipient of the prestigious St. Joseph Medal of Appreciation from the Archdiocese of Hartford. A proud veteran, he honorably served in the US Army.

The right words will never be written to do justice to the amazing man Ronald Butch’ Balabon was. Ron always had a joke or a story to put a smile on everyone’s face. He made even everyday life things, funny. Above that he was a family man and was the definition of unconditional love. If it brought joy to his family, Ron would do it. He was proud of his family and was always there cheering them on or giving the famous Butch Balabon’ pep talk show em where you live”. None of these words seem right because Ron was a one of a kind man, and if you were lucky to have known him, you know that. Everything we are, you helped us to be Pop.

In addition to his wife Sybil, Ron leaves to cherish his memory, a loving son, Ronald Balabon (Giselle) of Ansonia, grandchildren, Amber Elrod (Toscan) of Encino, CA and Zackary Balabon of Ansonia, great grandchildren, Brixton and Hendrix Elrod and , a sister, Thomasina Balabon of Salem, MA, a brother, Peter Balabon of Naples, FL, and several nieces and nephews.
