Ronald Joseph Lucido, Sr.

Ronald Joseph Lucido, Sr., age 83, of Shelton entered into rest on Friday, March 28, 2025 at Silver Springs Care Center. 

He was the devoted husband of Vera (Coppola) Lucido. Ron was born in Pittsfield, MA on June 6, 1941 son of the late Henry and Helen (Nimons) Lucido and was a Shelton resident for most of his life.Ron proudly served with the U.S. Marine Corps.

Ron was known for his love of (the late) Vera Lucido and their storybook romance that lasted through more than 5 decades . Their love affair will now continue eternally. 

He was an active coach for his children’s sports teams in basketball, baseball and softball. He was known as Coach Ron to many in the valley. He was a rabid fan of the Dallas Cowboys and Donald J. Trump. Ron was a hard working man at BF Goodrich and Farrells Foundry for many years and put himself through college in his forties. Ron also held Managerial positions at Cumberland Farms and NEC Corporation respectively for many years.

He will be missed by all that knew him.

Ron was the beloved father of Bonnie (Mike) Sinclair, Ronald (Kim) Lucido, Jr., Dawn Marie (Dave) Youngquist and James (Alisha) Lucido, brother of Beverly Fitzsimmons, loving grandfather of Edwin Sinclair, Dan Sinclair, Christina Lucido, Ronald Lucido, III, James Lucido, Jr., Melissa Iwaniec, David Youngquist, Jr. and Amanda Denton, great grandfather of 13 great grandchildren and godfather of Brad Shepard. He was also survived by many great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Ron was predeceased by two brothers Henry Lucido, Jr. and George Lucido, Sr.

His funeral services will be announced at a later date.

The Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Rd., Shelton has been entrusted with his arrangements.
