Ronald Louis Allen, Sr., age 78, of Derby, entered into rest on Friday March 7, 2014 in his home with his loving family by his side.
He was the devoted husband of Jeannette F. (Cray) Allen.
Ron was born in Silver Ridge, Maine on March 13, 1935, son of the late Leon and Shirley (Gould) Allen and was a resident of Derby since 1967.
He was a truck driver for over 30 years starting his trucking career with Archer Waste Disposal and retiring from American Disposal Service in 2004.
He was a member of St. Jude Church and Derby Senior Center.
Ronald is the beloved father of Karen Allen and her fiancée Christopher Troiano and Ronald Allen Jr. and his companion Cheri Clark, and proud grandfather of London Franks-Allen. He is also survived by three brothers Samuel, Clifford and Gene Allen, a devoted niece Diane Vincenzi and several other nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers Stanley and Roger Allen and a sister Sharon Markey.
Friends may call on Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Edward F. Adzima Funeral Home, 253 Elizabeth St. Derby. His funeral will leave the funeral home on Tuesday at 9:15 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in St. Jude Church, Derby. Burial with full military honors will follow in Mt. St. Peter Cemetery.
