Ronald R. Mitchell Jr., 60, entered into eternal rest on February 22, 2017, at Griffin Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Mary S. Williams Mitchell.
Ron was born in Derby on February 11, 1957, son of Palma Marcucio Mitchell of Seymour and the late Ronald R. Mitchell Sr. Ron, affectionately known to his friends as “Live Action” and “Duke”, was a self-employed general contractor. He was an avid deer hunter and fisherman and was a member of St. Sebastian Men’s Club in Ansonia, where he served on the Board of Governors and Derby Sportsmen Club in Oxford.
In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by a loving daughter, Molly Mitchell of Derby, a brother, Marc Mitchell of East Haven, sisters, Robin Mitchell and Kathryn Burt (Gary) of Seymour and Suzanne Fascione (Jerry) of Berlin and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visiting hours will be held on Sunday February 26, 2017, from 12:00 noon to 3:00 pm in the chapel of the SPINELLI-RICCIUTI/BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia. At 3:00 pm, a funeral service in celebration of Ron’s life will take place with Deacon Richard Renker officiating. Burial will be private.
