Ronald W. Edwards Jr., 63, of Shelton, beloved father of Matthew and Jason Edwards and husband of 23 years to Elaine Edwards, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, January 4, 2022.
Born in Danbury on August 2, 1958, Ron grew up in Monroe, where he attended elementary and middle schools. He graduated from Masuk High School in 1976.
Post-graduation, he entered the workforce as a talented carpenter. His greatest passions ranged from small projects to framing homes and industry-grade construction jobs. Ron worked for a plethora of companies, including Kane Construction, Gar-San Corporation, and belonged to Carpenters Union 210.
In 1997, Ron married Elaine Voccola and the couple settled to raise their family in Ansonia. He was very proud of his sons and their many accomplishments, from their early days at elementary school to establishing professional careers of their own.
Ron pursued many passions and hobbies, including fishing, gardening, and camping. He was also a big fan of the New York Yankees and New York Giants. Most importantly, Ron cherished the time he spent with his family and lending help to others.
In addition to his children and Mrs. Edwards, Ron is survived by his parents, Ronald W. Edwards Sr. (Barbara) of Shelton, and Barbara Lyons of Seymour; brother Michael Edwards (Janice) of Oxford; half-siblings Beth Edwards of Brewster, NY; Mark Edwards of Stratford; Barbara Roach (Brian) of Seymour; and Kevin Lyons of Norwalk; along with many loving nephews, nieces, cousins, extended family, and countless friends. Ron was predeceased by his half-brother, Christopher Lyons.
Visitation for friends and relatives will be held on Friday, January 14, 2022, from 5 to 8:00 p.m. in the chapel of SPINELLI-RICCIUTI/BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia with a service celebrating Ron’s life at 7:30 p.m., with Rev.
