Rose A. DelMastro, age 83, of Shelton, entered into eternal rest on November 22, 2023, at Griffin Hospital in Derby surrounded by her family. She was the beloved wife of the late Anthony DelMastro.
She was born on March 12, 1940, in Derby, daughter of the late Frank and Rose (Carione) Pinto. A lifelong resident of Shelton, a graduate of Shelton High School in 1958, Rose worked in the banking industry for a majority of her life until her retirement from Sikorsky Financial. She was a devoted Catholic, and a parishioner of St. Joseph’s Church. Her greatest joys in life, and what she was most proud of, were her 4 granddaughters.
Since childhood, Rose visited her relatives in New Jersey and made her Annual Summer trips to the shores of Ocean City. Rose was a lifelong Yankees, Mets, and Villanova fan. She enjoyed making Sunday sauce while listening to the “Italian House Party” on WICC.
Rose is the mother of Frank DelMastro, Rose (Rori) Gura and her husband Scott, and grandmother of Kaylee, Mia, Jenna, and Lacey Gura. She is survived by a sister, Carline Pinto, and predeceased by her parents Rose Carione Pinto & Frank Pinto, and her siblings: Mary Vollaro, Louis Pinto, Catherine Pinto and Frank Pinto Jr.
Friends may call on Friday December 1, 2023 from 5 to 7 pm at the Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Rd. Shelton. Her funeral will leave the funeral home on Saturday at 8:30 am for a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 am in St. Joseph Church, Shelton. Burial will follow at Mt St. Peter Cemetery.
