Rose E. Cardella

Rose E. Cardella, 81, of Ansonia, entered into rest on July 29, 2011, at Griffin Hospital. She was the beloved wife of Joseph Cardella Sr. 

Mrs. Cardella was born in Rome, GA on June 22, 1930, daughter of the late Marcus and Mary Kilgore Thacker. A resident of Ansonia since 1953, she was devoted to her family. Rose was a volunteer for the American Red Cross and was a friend of Bill W. 

In addition to her husband, she is survived by 3 sons, Lawrence M. Cardella and Robert L. Cardella of Myrtle Beach, SC, and Joseph Cardella Jr. and his wife Linda of Naugatuck, a daughter, Margaret Ryan and her husband Kevin of Branford, 2 brothers, John Lidell Thacker and Charles Thacker of GA, 4 sisters, Mary Bishop, Margaret Busby, Helen Standridge, and Fran Walker all of GA, 4 grandchildren, Joseph Cardella III, Arthur J. Cardella, Carla J. Wheeler, and Diana Cardella, a great-granddaughter, Taya Rose Cardella and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Franklin D. Thacker and a sister, Sarah Stalbey. 

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral on Wednesday August 3, 2011, at 9:15am from the SPINELLI-RICCIUTI/BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at Holy Rosary Church in Ansonia.
