Rose (Kwochka) Moskwa

Rose (Kwochka) Moskwa, 88 of Seymour passed away May 28, 2011 peacefully at home, as were her wishes; she was surrounded by her loving family and friends. She was the beloved wife of the late Michael Moskwa.

Rose was born October 13, 1922 in Seymour, youngest child of the late Astafy and Mary (Karlak) Kwochka. Mrs. Moskwa was a graduate of Bryant College, Providence, RI where she was a member of Kappa Delta Kappa Sorority; she later received her Master’s Degree in Education from the University of Bridgeport. She was a lifelong Valley resident, and she was a popular Seymour High School Teacher for over forty years .

Mrs. Moskwa leaves her loving family including a daughter, Sally Wilbour and her husband James of Cumberland, RI, a son, Russell Moskwa and his wife Kim of Mansfield Center, a daughter-in-law, Audrey Moskwa of Oxford, grandchildren, Gillian, Maria Rose, Corrine, and Nicholas, her devoted sister-in-law, Mary (Moskwa) Rozum of Seymour, and many nieces and nephews. She will also be greatly missed by her caregiver of 5 years, Keyu Tuus and her faithful friend Simon. Her son Ronald, brothers, Samuel, Daniel, and Walter Kwochka, and sister Stella K. Schultz predeceased her.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 9:00 a.m. from the Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 West Church Street, Seymour, to Three Saints Orthodox Church, 26 Howard Ave., Ansonia for 10:00 a.m. Interment will be in Three Saints Cemetery, Seymour. Family and friends are invited to call Tuesday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home, with the Parastas Service taking place at 7:00 p.m. Memorial gifts may be sent to Three Saints Orthodox Church.
