Rose M. Schryver

Rose M. Schryver, age 88, a resident of Ansonia since 1954, entered eternal rest on June 3, 2024, at Gardner Heights Health Center in Shelton. 

She was the beloved wife of the late Donald I. Schryver. Rose was born in Newton Hook, NY on December 5, 1935, one of twelve children to the late Calogero and Saveria Macchione Davi. 

After raising her family, she was employed at the former Evening Sentinel Newspaper and later Stop & Shop Supermarket. 

Rose loved to play poker with her girlfriends and looked forward to trips to the casino. She enjoyed cooking for her family and was an avid fan of the New York Yankees and UConn women’s basketball. She will be lovingly remembered by all who had the fortune of knowing her. 

She leaves to cherish her memory, sons, Michael A. Schryver (Susan) and Joseph Schryver (Sally) of Ansonia, and James J. Schryver of Seymour, a daughter, Debra M. Narowski of Ansonia, thirteen grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by seven brothers and four sisters. 

Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family and pay their respects on Saturday, June 8, 2024, from 9:00 to 10:30 am in the chapel of SPINELLI-RICCIUTI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia.
