Rose Marie (DeRosa) Battaglino, age 89, peacefully entered into eternal rest on July 25, 2017, in the comfort of her home, with her loving family by her side. She was the beloved wife of the late Dominick J. Battaglino.
Mrs. Battaglino was born in Derby on June 11, 1928, daughter of the late Marino and Lena Breda DeRosa. A lifelong resident of Ansonia, she was employed as a bookkeeper for Boy Scouts of America in Derby until her retirement. Rose was a communicant of Holy Rosary Church in Ansonia where she was a member of the Rosary Guild and Festa Committee. She was also a member of the Derby Senior Center and a former member of the Sons of Italy in Derby.
She leaves to cherish her memory, daughters, Joan B. Testa (Anthony) of Ansonia and Donna R. Ferraro (James) of Hamden, cherished grandchildren, Nicholas Testa of Springfield, MA and Marisa Hale (Stephen) of Naugatuck, great-grandson, Mason Everett Hale, caring sister, Patricia Tinti of Ansonia and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Marino “Bud” DeRosa. The family sends a heart-felt thank you to Rose’s care givers, Sharon and Assetou for their wonderful care.
Visiting hours will be held on Sunday July 30, 2017, from 3:00 to 6:00 pm in the chapel of the SPINELLI-RICCIUTI/BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia. On Monday, her funeral will commence at 11:15 am from the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 noon at Holy Rosary Church in Ansonia. Interment will immediately follow in Mt.
